As the MD of Old Mutual Kenya, Andia Chakava was managing over a billion dollars in investments before the age of 30. Over a 20 year career, she has accumulated many accolades and is currently a global thought leader on gender-lens investing.
Andia Chakava is the founder of AC Advisory, a consultancy firm that supports African women to accelerate their leadership and entrepreneurial skills. Andia is currently the Investment Director at Graca Machel Trust and one of the first female fund managers in Africa.
She the founding Chairperson of the New Faces New Voices Kenya chapter (women in finance network), non-executive director of Sterling Investment Bank, an investment committee member of OPES LCEF Restart fund, an investment advisory council member of Canada’s Equality Fund and an advisory board member of Kenya women's enterprise fund.
She has been named ‘Top 40 under 40’ by East Africa’s Business Daily (2008,2009), one of 50 Rising Stars of Africa-by-Africa report (2014), Africa’s Most Influential Woman in Financial Services by CEO Magazine (2014, 2018), won the National Diar Inclusion and Diversity Business Executive champion award -Kenya (2018) and has been named as one of the 'Women to Watch' by Forbes magazine 2020.
